All you budding photographers with iPhones prepare, a picture contest is underway.
The iPhone Photography Awards contest runs through March 31 and the top winner will receive a 20-inch Apple iMac computer. A few iPhone photos are already featured in the IPPA gallery. The photo at the left is from that gallery and it was taken by Corey Beaman.
The IPPA creator, Kenan Aktulun, is an avid photographer and design enthusiast who said the contest started with the iPhone.
“When I got my iPhone I was very impressed and fascinated by how much it changed my use of a cellphone. I started seeing the similar effect in other iPhone users behaviors as well. So the idea of this competition is to celebrate this change and encourage the creativity of the iPhone users. Initially I setup the award as a beta to inspire the iPhone owners but the overwhelming response led it to where currently is,” Aktulun said.
He also said that buzz about the competition is growing and entries have started coming in from across the U.S. and from a few other countries.
